By Max Vers & Jessica Gentile

The long wait for Frank Ocean's highly anticipated follow-up to 2012's Channel Orange is almost over. Or is it? The rapper has teased a new release for almost a year. Using only a Tumblr page and no official Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, Frank Ocean's lack of communication has made the delay even more unbearable for his fans and the entire internet. Given all the rumors and speculation, here are some of the things we know for sure:

It has a potential title

On 6 April 2015, Frank posted his notorious Tumblr post announcing a new album for July 2015, along with issue #1 of a magazine also called Boys Don't Cry. However, July 2015 ended with no new album in sight, leaving the internet and many fans disappointed.

These two new songs might be on it

Back in November 2014, the singer-songwriter did release some new music with the sultry, sensitive song "Memrise", posted on his Tumblr page. It was followed in January 2015 by "You Are Luhh", a beautiful cover of Aaliyah's iconic song "At Your Best (You Are Love)".

It will likely feature some massive collaborations

Frank Ocean seems to have enlisted a long list of collaborators and producers to work on his new album, including Hit-Boy and Rodney Jerkins. He also visited London's Abbey Road Studios to record some of the new music. Rumours of a Lil B collaboration appeared after Lil B posted a photo of him and Ocean in the studio with the caption "New music coming soon!"

Although there hasn't been any confirmation, other potential collaborations include Kendrick Lamar, French pianist Christophe Chassol, Rick Rubin, James Blake, Pharrell, King Krule, Danger Mouse and Depeche Mode. French DJ and electronic artist Sebastian (Sebastian Akchoté-Bozovic) from label Ed Banger is rumoured to have produced a few tracks with Frank Ocean. Busy P (Pedro Winter), the label's boss, revealed the news in an interview with French magazine Les Inrocks. However, he later downplayed the news by stating: "Sebastian met Frank Ocean few times, that's all we know. For further infos please contact Frank's management". The latest rumours have speculated that Frank Ocean is still in the studio working this time with Rich the Kid.

His famous fans are just as frustrated as you

In September 2015, the music video for a song called "Nikes" was rumoured to be completed but by November, with no new album or single in sight, singer Adele also shared her frustration in an interview with Rolling Stone: "I'm just fucking waiting for Frank fucking Ocean to come out with his album. It's taking so fucking long. That sounds so stupid, coming from me, doesn't it?"

That 'Secret Listening Party' never happened

News of a secret listening party held on the night of February 28, 2016 has emerged where Frank Ocean is reported to have played new music. It turns out the listening party never happened but Ocean did play new music while engaging in pottery with singer Alycia Bellamy, who later tweeted: "when you & frank are making ceramics + listening to music & someone films from outside, leaks it & blogs call it a listening party".

Audio snippets leaked online and have since relentlessly been removed in response to DMCA takedown notices from Rico Management, suggesting that they are legitimate samples from Frank Ocean's upcoming album!

In the meantime you can enjoy his vocals on the new Kanye album

In February 2016, Kanye West's new album The Life of Pablo featured uncredited vocals by Frank Ocean on the track "Wolves". Ocean also attended Kanye's album launch event.
