From the Brian Eno collaborations I also like "My life in the Bush of Ghosts" with David Byrne, where they brought the ideas of Cage, Stockhausen and Reich into pop music. You're right! What by Pink Floyd bothers is, that their albums are considered by the music press as masterpieces, especially the terrible "Atom Heart Mother", "Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Wall". At least I like the psychedelic "A Saucerful of Secrets" from 1968.

I agree with you: Pink Floyd is overrated. "Dark Side of the Moon" sounds for like an orgasmic-kitsch-orgy with Georg Lucas on the regulator of the mixing desk: pounding heartbeats, sound of coins or cash register, helicopter sound effects, airport announcements and urgent steps. The subsequent large projects of Pink Floyd like "The Wall“ (1979) had symptoms of mania, which increased Waters' total commercial control. p.s. Wrong Way Up by Brian Eno & John Cale is a beautiful album!

"Desperately seeking recommendations". I suggest Earl Sweatshirt, Miguel and James Blake as well as MGMT, Django Django and Tame Impala if you're into indie/alternative stuff. Cheers.

I wasn't looking for anything, really, and ended up just buying Where Legend Began by English Dogs. Brazilian pressing, 1987. I almost got Slayer's Live Undead + Haunting the Chapel in blue vinyl, hand-numbered 500 copies only, but it was a bit expensive. Not expensive for what it is, but I used the logic: in doubt, don't buy. I was also interested in getting King Crimson's debut, which is my favourite album of all time, on 200 gram remastered vinyl, since my CD copy of it is a bit bleh, but it was even more expensive than the Slayer one.

I haven't watched McCabe & Mrs. Miller yet, must catch that one! And why do you ask about Woody Allen, because I'm listening to a compilation from his films' soundtracks? Well, I must've watched like 15-20 pictures by him, I always go to the theater to catch his new yearly production, hehe. What about you, dear Stephen?

Heh, I know what you mean. Sometimes I struggle with what it means to be a 'friend'. Not sure if I believe in friendship, you see? And I've noticed you're very reserved. Woody Allen is love, agreed! Also, about the pressure... I think much of it comes from comparision with others, and this takes a long time to stop doing, I'm still struggling with it and some indeed never stop comparing themselves to others. Not much good can come out of it, you know?

Certainly one of the very best of 2010 - still not sure if it can top Bonobo's "Black Sands", but time will tell. I used to hate it, but after another 2 listens it grew on me, damn good album.
