So I have been on last.fm/audioscrobbler for almost a year and a half, and through that time, my charts have moved around, outside of Phish remaining my favorite arist by far. I'd also like to say I'm listening to Phaddy Boom Baddy right now. But that's quite off topic. Anyway, there isn't a great reason for this journal entry. Basically, where I intended to go in my first sentence was something along the lines of…
I didn't really start giving the Talking Heads a good listen until September 2005. Outside of Once in a Lifetime (which also happened to be the 200th track I listened to by the band), I didn't really know what they sung. I was somewhat familiar with Psycho Killer and Crosseyed and Painless because of Phish's many Crosseyed and Painless covers. [Phaddy Boom Baddy's over and I'm now listening to Shangri-La.]
Anyways, I really got into the Talking Heads this school year, and they're an awesome band. Yeah they're weird, but so is all the music ever created, ever. Lately, my favorite tracks of theirs have been Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On), Don't Worry About the Government, Take Me to the River, and This Must Be the Place. I have yet to come across any David Byrne (lead singer with a solo career), but I'm interested in listening to some. Hopefully, this journal will pop-up on your page and you'll randomly decide to read it, and maybe you will give the Talking Heads a listen if you don't really know them. I love last.fm because it is very key for me discovering new (and old) music that I usually like, and might not have normally heard about or bothered to listen to. So for whatever reason you're on this website, I encourage you to find new music through recomendations (and sometimes journals like this one…)
