#5 Elephunk - Black Eyed Peas

The Black Eyed Peas go mainstream and enlist the help of Fergie and i really liked their new sound. My favorite of this one is definitely Hey Mama closely followed by Let's Get It Started (or Let's Get Retarded depending whcih country you're from). Where's The Love and Shut Up also deserve a mention.
Shame they sold out with 2009's The E.N.D..
#4 Songs About Jane - Maroon 5

Maroon 5 burst onto the scene and this a fantasitc album. Highlights are Harder To Breathe, She Will Be Loved, This Love and Sunday Morning.
#3 Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand

Franz Ferdinand were a band that emerged in Australia while i was overseas, and when i first heard Take Me Out, i was hooked. The Dark of the Matinée, Michael, Darts Of Pleasure and Jacqueline are all great songs too, as are the rest of the tracks on this fantastic album.

Hard to have these boys at #2 but this is one of the best Aussie albums. Made famous through an iPod commercial over here which featured Are You Gonna Be My Girl, which is the highlight track on the album. Other highlights are Cold Hard Bitch, Timothy and Look What You've Done, very The Beatles the latter.
#1 Feeler - Pete Murray

I was overseas when this album was released and got home with no idea who Pete Murray was. Since i first heard So Beautiful i was 100% hooked on everything Pete Murray has done, and still am to this day. I have seen him live i think 4 times now and will go everytime he tours. Expect to see more Pete in these charts. Highlights aside from So Beautiful are Bail Me Out, Fall Your Way, Tonic, Lines, Ten Ft. Tall, Feeler and the rest of the album.
Eminem misses out this time with Encore, with the discovery of Pete i didn't have much else going on. Also a shame to miss out How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb by U2 and Delta Goodrem's Mistaken Identity, which was her follow up to Innocent Eyes.
Song of the year has to go to Aussie rock band Spiderbait with their cover of Ram Jam's Black Betty, together with So Beautiful.
