creating a new game

Okay, so I've decided that I've done all the games that are out there for your top 10 artists or whatever, so I'm making my own.

For each artist in your top 10 artists, name
- your favorite song
- your favorite album
- your favorite lyrics
- how you got started listening to them
- last played

I think that's enough to do for one game. Let's get this started!

1.) Tori Amos
Favorite song: Your Cloud
Favorite album: Scarlet's Walk
Favorite lyrics: to sing along to - "those demigods, with their nine inch nails and little fascist panties stuffed inside the heart of every nice girl" from Precious Things. overall - "if there is a horizontal line that runs from the map off your body, will that horizontal line when asked know how to find where you end and where I begin" - from Your Cloud
How I started listening: I had heard Silent All These Years on the radio back in the day (95 or 96, I'm guessing), and I bought Little Earthquakes sometime when I was in middle school. I've loved her ever since.
Last played: Sweet Dreams

2) Mike Doughty
Favorite song: The Pink Life
Favorite album: Skittish
Favorite lyrics: "and the options they are infinite and the chance from my hands I feel is slipping it" from "The Pink Life" or "but I swear I'd like to drink the fuel straight from your lighter, it's all inside the wrist, it's all inside the way you time it, I resent the way you make me like myself" from Rising Sign
How I started listening: I was a fan of Soul Coughing, and seeing as how Mike was the lead singer, I was automatically interested in his solo career. When I got the chance, I listened to his music and fell in love.
Last played: Laundrytown

3.) Sarah McLachlan
Favorite song: Elsewhere
Favorite album: Fumbling Towards Ecstasy
Favorite lyrics: "mother can't you see I've got to live my life the way I feel is right for me, might not be right for you, but it's right for me" from "Elsewhere" or "leave me be, I don't want to love you, I just get confused and I come all undone, if I agree, well, it's just to appease you, cause I don't remember what we're fighting for" from Time
How I started listening: A similar situation to Tori here, where I heard Possession on the radio, and bought Fumbling Towards Ecstasy soon after. I didn't really start to appreciate her until after I bought Surfacing, though.

4.) Soul Coughing
Favorite song: Screenwriter's Blues
Favorite album: Irresistible Bliss
Favorite lyrics: "and the radio man laughs because the radio man fucks a model, too. gone savage for teenagers with automatic weapons and boundless love. gone savage for teenagers who are aestetically pleasing, in other words, fly. los angeles beckons the teenagers to come to her on buses. los angeles loves love" from "Screenwriter's Blues" or "here comes the incumbent, who quoth, there's only one everything, red sucker mouth" The Incumbent
How I started listening: The first Soul Coughing song I ever heard was Unmarked Helicopters on the Songs in the Key of X album, and I had to check them out further. I bought Irresistible Bliss and was hooked.
Last played: So Far I Have Not Found The Science

5. Tom Waits
Favorite song: Tom Traubert's Blues
Favorite album: Small Change
Favorite lyrics: "and the whores hike up their skirts and fish for drugstore prophylactics" from Small Change or "and you can ask any sailor, and the keys from the jailor and the old men in wheelchairs know that Mathilda's the defendant, she killed about a hundred and she follows wherever you may go" from "Tom Traubert's Blues"
How I started listening: Tom Waits was introduced to me by my AP English teacher in high school. We listened to a few songs in class, including "Small Change," "Tom Traubert's Blues," and either Bad Liver and a Broken Heart or The Piano Has Been Drinking (Not Me). I have Mr. Jonjak to thank for my love of Tom Waits. :)
Last played: Downtown Train

6.) Bryan White
Favorite song: Rebecca Lynn
Favorite album: How Lucky I Am
Favorite lyrics: "now sherry says she's jealous of this freedom that I've found" from I'm Not Supposed To Love You Anymore or "it ain't the falling in love that pulls you through, when the times get tough, what you gonna do, to make it last day out and day in, it ain't falling in love, it's the stayin'" from The Stayin'
How I started listening: I've listened to Bryan White for years and years. Basically, ever since he was popular, I've listened to him. He's lost popularity lately, which is sad, because I love him a lot.
Last played: Heaven Sent

7. Beck
Favorite song: Heaven Hammer (Missing)
Favorite album: Guero
Favorite lyrics: "fist pounding on a vending machine, she's got a toy diamond ring stuck on her finger" from Girl or "I prayed heaven today Would bring its hammer down on me And pound you out of my head I can't think with you in it" from "Heaven Hammer (Missing)"
How I started listening: I heard Loser on the radio, and I hadn't really listened to him much until recently, and then I was listening to tracks from Guero and realized how much I love his music.
Last played: Satan Gave Me A Taco

8. Marty Casey & Lovehammers
Favorite song: Eyes Can't See
Favorite album: Marty Casey & Lovehammers
Favorite lyrics: "See a pretty face, Kiss is like a handshake, See the pretty face, Kiss is like a handshake, What about me, so what, so what" from Straight As An Arrow or "i build a wall just to watch it fall, knocked to me knees, i begin to crawl, i feel the building of this anger, its rising up" from Clinic
How I started listening: I saw Marty on Rock Star: INXS, and he was my favorite by the 2nd week, and since I knew he had a band of his own, I checked them out, and they are amazing! I've even seen them in concert twice!
Last played: Call of Distress

9.) Depeche Mode
Favorite song: Policy Of Truth
Favorite album: Violator
Favorite lyrics: "I don't want to start any blasphemous rumours, but I think that god's got a sick sense of humor, and when I die, I expect to find him laughing" from Blasphemous Rumours or "never again is what you swore the time before" from "Policy of Truth"
How I started listening: Wow, probably heard "Enjoy The Silence" or something. I just remember getting really into Personal Jesus and other stuff from there.
Last played: Shine

10.) Stone Temple Pilots
Favorite song: Sex Type Thing
Favorite album: Core
Favorite lyrics: "I know you want what's on my mind, I know you like what's on my mind, I know it eats you up inside" from "Sex Type Thing" or "And I see, that these are the eyes of disarray, Would you even care?" from Plush
How I started listening: Ooh, another one where I probably heard random songs on the radio and didn't start really listening to them until recently. I really love every song they do. Amazing band.
