I can't recall which version i heard first... it might have been Mississippi John Hurt's version.. of course, i had already heard Lloyd Price's version growing up.. but didn't make the connection till years later it was the same track. I recorded 100 versions of the song off a radio program (public access obviously) way back in 1988 or 89 ... thats when i started to pursue more versions. Nowadyas I am trying to get them all on cd/digital format .. only have 15-20 in my hard drive.

Hi Stella. Every so often I pick a lastfm friend at random and listen to a playlist made up from their top artists (too much time on my hands clearly). Anyway, I've just spent a happy hour with some of your faves: Boards of Canada, Stones, Pavement, Howlin' Wolf. An eclectic mix but all good :)

I like the sound of Deadboy's Evil Friend. Nearly every song with Evil in the title has something going for it. Evil Heat by Ten Benson is probably my favourite.
