I'm playing around with the Tsu social network. Their model is to give most of the revenue back to users. So if your posts get enough views you make some money. For most people this will just be cents per day unless you build a massive following. Some people are making dollars per day. You also get paid if people sign up with your link and use it. It's still early days and it lacks some features, but there are some interesting people active there, including some musicians and bands.

Went through another milestone over this weekend. My kids have been using the PC, so they helped a little.

I passed another milestone this week. Not sure my listening rate has changed much. It may this year as I've taken up running and listen to tunes when I do that. Plus I'm scrobbling songs from Youtube and Bandcamp now.

I've been listening to lots of prog lately, but still mixing it up with various other stuff.

I've been doing a fair bit of singing over the last couple of years. This has included a couple of collaborations with folk from the Six String Bliss forum. Some of them show up here now.

Still pondering an artist name for my solo stuff.

My 40 thousandth play was Sleigh Ride, part of a free download EP from Amazon. Very festive.

I estimate I've averaged 16 tracks per day over the last 6.5 years of using this site. Before I got my current Android phone my mobile listening didn't get logged, but that would not have made much difference.

I listen a lot at work, but some days I barely listen at all. Then I listen to long podcasts at home that don't give me many plays. Never mind, it's just numbers.

This is my first proper recording project and I know there are a few issues with the timing, the mix and my performance. I'll work on those for my next track. The metadata on the album has some issues such as missing the space from my name. That may have the benefit of not mixing me up with others of the same (common) name.

I see from my charts that I've been listening to lots of David Bowie, Eels and King Crimson this year. I've not bought a huge amount of music, but have bought a couple of download albums such as Embryonic and Echo. This may be the start of a trend. I'll buy downloads if the price is right and the quality is good. I'm running out of shelf space for CDs.
