I'm feeling rather distraught that I apparently listen almost exclusively to music with female vocalists (as my "tag cloud" has made impossible to ignore any further!). The truth is I happen to be especially fond of a nice, intriguing voice, and I have found more of the types of voices and of music that suits my taste amongst the female gender.

Here's a short list of male vocalists that I really enjoy, so if you think you know something I might enjoy based on this selection, please do recommend it!

Glen Hansard, either with The Frames or with The Swell Season

José González, alone or with Zero 7

Habib Koité

Lokua Kanza, including his work with Gerald Toto/Lokua Kanza/Richard Bona

City and Colour

Jack White, while less my style in terms of music, his voice makes it a winner for me either in The White Stripes or The Raconteurs

Sean Hayes
