Last night, I saw the Black Unicorn Tour, which featured Classic Case, Showbread, The Fall of Troy, and He Is Legend. Overall, the selection was pick and choose, there were some really good preformances and some really awful ones. Here are the details (in the order they played):

Classic Case: Awesome band, and awesome show. I have heared through the grapevine that of these bands, He Is Legend had the best show, but on this particular date, I think Classic Case stole the show. The singer's voice was great, and none of the instruments were overpowering, there was a good balance. The only downside was that the set was short. I bought their CD at the show (a mere 5 bucks) and it is just as good as the show. Overall, great band.

Showbread: Just plain awful. I don't think it was their performance that sucked, I think their music in general just plain sucks. And in addition, their t-shirts were just dumb. One of them had a music note with a circle and cross through it (like a "no smoking" sign). I think this means that they aren't musical at all.

The Fall of Troy: I have very mixed feelings about this band. On the plus side, all of the musicians are very talented, especially, the guitarist. But despite this, the vocals are awful, and even though they are good musicians, they can't seem to write very good music. Oddlly enough, their fan base is huge, (most of the kids at the show were there to see them), and consists of mostly annoying scene kids who think they're the stuff.

He Is Legend: This was a pretty awesome show. They are full of energy when they play, and the crowd really got into it. They added extra parts to some of the songs that weren't on the CD that were pretty sweet. The only downside was that they had these obnoxiously bright strobe lights going throughout the show that made the band hard to see and made me feel like I was going to have a seizure.

Overall, this was a great show. I don't honestly think you can judge how well a band plays live by seeing them once, because I think everyone has on and off days.

I saw Tooth & Nail Tour the other day. Here is a brief synopsys of the bands that were there and their shows:

The Classic Crime: Really good show, especially for a newer band. Very energetic, the singer did a back flip off the bass drum, it was pretty sweet.

Jonezetta: I've heard alot of people don't like them, but I was a fan. There show was energetic, and the tunes catchy. I met the singer (Rob) after the show and he seemed like a nice guy. They do however need to work on making their show sound more like the CD, they were a little different.

Anberlin: Really good show. (the white lighting was cool). Not much to say besides "really good". (but the singer looked EXTREMELY gay).

Emery: Wow. After Anberlin, I though Anberlin had stolen the show, but Emery totally showed them up. Their voices were incredible and the show was very energetic. (Everyone was dancing like nuts.) They didn't play "Walls" at first, but played it as an encore.

Overall, this was a great show. It was nice because you didnt have to sit through some crappy opening bands to get to the ones you really wanted to see, they all were great. If T&N tour comes to your area, I suggest seeing it.
