The other discs are all far more avant-garde and tonally challenging (and probably more enjoyable if you can read music), but the things on disc two (especially Atmosphères and Lux aeterna) are amazing timbral experiments, and some of the best soundscapes you will ever hear.

I'm no expert but I'd start with the 'Soundboy Punishments' comp on Skull Disco...some great stuff by Shackleton on that too. The Dubstep Allstars mix (Volume 6, i think) is also damn fine.

Woohoo! And maybe you should check out his more experimental albums, like Requia or Farewell Fare Voyagers. Other favorites of mine are The Yellow Princess and America. You really can't go wrong with Fahey. Plus, 4 Men With Beards are in the process of reissuing some of his best work. I already picked up America and it looks and sounds great.
