Hello sir. I wanted to thank you for your link to the Novastorm soundtrack bij Rik Ede. I really enjoy the music, and sofar the only way to listen to it was by playing the game. But now I can listen to it independently, without all the dominating sounds of my wing mans, orbiters, homing missiles and drones. Splendid! ^^

Many thanks for the link over at Falcom jdk's page. I've been looking to expand more into their back catalog, and this helps greatly.

Voila un truc qui colle à peu près : bitterhorn a écrit : the first time I encountered the term was through Watain, several years back, and yes, they were referring to their own work. lb: pretty much; most of the bands labelled thusly are theistic satanists/luciferians/black gnostics or at least claim to be; in a more general sense, I'd say Orthodox BM means art coming from a magickal/spiritual outlook more than a nationalist/naturalist/traditional-pagan/political one, with lyrics that focus on philosophy and mysticism more or less exclusively.

Well most of Hugin's work has that special sound, like Nazgul and Barbarians for the full, cavernous ambient sound, or Bonemachine's Extraterrestrial Death for the isolated atmosphere... Vinterriket has some good stuff as well, including a great split demo with Uruk-Hai, but unfortunately the majority of his other stuff is incredibly repetitive, even compared to Uruk-Hai. The best though I think would be the space drone ambient band V12140 by the Polish underground master Maciej Koper. 3 demos, a full-length and an EP of celestial dreaming soundscapes, for download at his SoundClick site (along with all of his other astounding projects as well). dronehouse is similar as well, but with an even heavier focus on drone; Why Do The Roses Fade So Fast is the only album I consider on par with A Night in the Forest.

You asked which albums were closest to A Night In The Forest (a fantastic ambient album!). I think the closest would be The Battle, which is similar but has more piano, and Tawantinsuyu, which is full South American ethnic ambient. These are probably the best Uruk-Hai albums as well, the style on Night in the Forest is just so perfect...
