Last.fm Top 10 artists

Because I'm bored now. I'll do one of these.

Random questions about my top ten artists as of today (12/22/07). It should be taken about as seriously as any other of those other random lists on last.fm…that is, only as much as you want to. :)

1. Nobuo Uematsu (植松伸夫)
2. Steely Dan
3. Toshiro Masuda (増田俊郎)
4. Fall Out Boy
5. UVERworld
6. ALI PROJECT
7. abingdon boys school
8. Linkin Park
9. Flight of the Conchords
10. Queensrÿche

1. What was the first song you heard of 6?
"Yuukyou Seishunka" watching Code Geass for the first time as it's the first ending. Still my favorite Alipro song, and my top listen here.

2. What is your favorite album of 2?
Aja - it's also my favorite album of all time, as Steely Dan is my favorite band ^.^

3. What is your favorite lyric that 5 has sung?
Er, I don't have a favorite lyric by them, and that's my fault, really. Should get a hold of some lyrics. <.<

4. What is your favorite song by 7?
Still gotta be the first I ever heard, "INNOCENT SORROW."

5. What is a good memory you have considering the music of 10?
Seeing one of the best concept albums ever, Operation: Mindcrime performed in its entirety live a few years back. Yeah, Tate may not have the chops he had twenty years ago and DeGarmo is gone, but seeing the show live was a hundred times better than another reviewing of the Livecrime DVD (even got to find out what really happened to Mary after all this time!).

6. Is there a song of 3 that makes you sad?
Not so much. But fan favorite "Sadness and Sorrow" is probably as close as it gets. Naruto is so alone! Sasuke has such pain! Sakura is caught in the middle (because she's an idiot)! LMAO–the music is very good at conveying emotion when you watch the show, but…yeah, some anime can and has made me cry, but not this one.

7. What is your favorite lyric that 2 has sung?
Only one off of nine studio albums and thirty-five years of work? I couldn't even pick a favorite song if you asked me to…
"I can tell you all I know, the where to go, the what do/
You can try to run but you can't hide from what's inside of you"
Any Major Dude Will Tell You - Pretzel Logic

8. What is your favorite song by 9?
"Frodo" - By and large all of their songs make me laugh since they are a comedy folk duo, but seeing their "music video" for a song about LotR…how could I not love it? Only regret about not having HBO anymore is the lack of Flight of the Conchords, if there is a second season of their show.

9. How did you get into 3?
Watching Naruto. Duh is uncalled for here, but accruate. :P

10. What was the first song you heard by 1?
To be technical, after putting the FFII cartridge in my SNES and switching start, the title scene came on and "Prelude" began. (LOL. And of course, it was actually FFIV, but like I knew that eleven and a half years ago.)

11. What is your favorite song by 4?
Snitches and Talkers Get Stiches and Walkers - I'd make some snarky remark about FOB making the song titles longer, but of course they have…still awesome. If I'd had a last.fm account a year earlier, it would have 500 scrobbles, easy.

12. Is there a song of 8 that makes you sad?
No, seeing as LP tends to pump me up more than anything… Easier to Run might come the closest, but not really. Not a fan of sad music on the whole, honestly.

13. What is your favorite album of 5?
Isn't Timeless their only one? If I'm mistaken, I'd be glad to be corrected. More UVERworld is a good thing.

14. What is your favorite song of 1?
"Clash on the Big Bridge (Battle With Gilgamesh)" from FFV. I had one of those geniune fangirlish squealing moments when I found out it was covered in non-Uematsu FFXII–the FF main theme and a variation on the Chocobo theme are to be expected, but "Clash on the Big Bridge" isn't one of the recurring themes. Not a bad variation either, but the Uematsu SNES version is still the best.

15. What is your favorite song of 10?
Probably a tie for Speak off Operation: Mindcrime and Empire off Empire. Silent Lucidity is good, but too obvious. Why are the melodramatic songs always the most popular for rock bands? (A general statement, not about this one per se.)
