Gok Wan, presenter of Channel 4's How To Look Good Naked waved at me today.

It was most surreal.

He had been at my place of work (Rotherham Hospital), making one of the nurses in the Day Surgery Centre look good naked, when walking past my internal office window, pointed at me, waved and then made a clawing mime at the glass. On his way back, he came into the office an told me to tell "Pete" (?) that he's "a miserable fucking bastard".

You couldn't make it up…

If Morrissey has been labelled a racist by the (unfortunately) popular music press, then surely so should Björk, but I have yet to see the fallout.

You can see my position on Morrissey's treatment by the NME in a previous journal entry. But listening to the lyrics to Declare Independence, it seems to me that the lack of interest in Björk's "racism" justifies the argument that Morrissey has been stitched up…

Let me start by stating my position with regards to the relative merits or otherwise of the music produced by Radiohead. I am not a fan. My opinion varies from at best, dull and uninteresting through to turgid and unlistenable. That said, upon hearing the news that a band I always get the feeling I should like was releasing an album for which I could pay a price of my own choosing, I was interested.

So Morrissey is a racist again is he? According to this weeks (01/12) NME, Morrissey "trod clumsily around the area of immigration" when he suggested that England is loosing its identity. I think I'd agree.

What I would disagree with is the NME's point of view that this opinion makes someone racist. It's quite clear to anyone with half a brain, even reading the article as it's published, he was lead down the path of discussing immigration and that the NME's comment on his opinions are rather sensationalist. It just feels like a cheap, dirty trick in order to sell…

I've just come back from a two week family holiday in northern France. I've uploaded some photos here.

We stayed in Keycamp acomodation for a week at Perros-Guirec and then a week at Camping cote de nacre.

It was absolutely excellent - the first week for exploring the absolutely gorgeous Brittany coast line and for the second week learning about the D-Day landings and the Bayeux tapestry in Normandy.

We went to Blackpool on the WMC trip at the weekend. The sun shone!! Photos are here
