By day I'm a software developer/consultant in the Twin Cities area and work a lot with Microsoft .Net doing web, desktop, and database development. By night I'm a new father. Otherwise when I get free time I do a lot of songwriting and home recording.

Growing up, I remember my first real passions in music were bands like Poison, Def Leppard, INXS, and Run-DMC. In Junior high I really got into Van Halen and knew all their albums like the back of my hand. I was also listening to Motley Crue, Guns 'n Roses, and was starting to get into Metallica (around the release of "And Justice for All").

In high school I really became interested in orchestral stuff (Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovski, Prokofiev, and Schostokovich were my favorites) while listening to a broad spectrum of "rock"-type stuff. This was 1990 - 1994. Primus, Pearl Jam, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Mr. Bungle, Tool, Sepultura, Cypress Hill, Phish, Pantera, and Helmet, among many, many others. In college (1994-1998) I listened to a lot of jazz. Max Roach, Clifford Brown, and Miles were my favorites.

After college and out in the real world, I really started getting into heavier and heavier stuff and started seeing more shows. The Melvins were huge to me. Other memorable shows were Nothingface, Slipknot, Sevendust, Puya, Staind, Disturbed, Tomahawk, and Soulfly.
