I was tinkering with my cheap keyboard today, when I realised the growing number of bands I listen to that use the stuff.
Synthesizers, vocoders, loop-pedals, drum machines, cheese fries. You know what I mean.
And one of my favourite bands of that genre (electronica maybe? pop?) is the collaboration between Benjamin Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello : The Postal Service.
Their sound is full of electronic beeps and beats that seem to suit Gibbard's words and singing, much better than the music of his own Death Cab For Cutie.

Eisley doesn't quite have the electronic style of The Postal Service, but it has a keyboard. And a very pretty girl playing it. And two other very pretty girls. So whatever, yeah.
Of course, they also make good music. Very, very good music. This is a point of view, but I'm very sure many will agree that they are brilliant.
Wow. How many very-s have i just used. Urghh not good.
Eisley's strength lies in its heavenly vocals and beautiful harmonies, credit to Sherri DuPree and Stacy DuPree for that. Oh, did I mention all 5 band-members are close family?
The DuPree sisters' melodies give their music an otherworldy feel, sometimes unnerving, sometimes really orgasmic to the ears.
Tracks like I Wasn't Prepared and Sea King really show the girls' talent. Buy their new record,
Combinations, to find out more.
Oh, and check out this spooky video for their first single off that album, Invasion. Enjoy.
