yeah.. thier 80s stuff is my least favorite.. I think if you listened heavy to thier early stuff you would likely form a high opinion of them. Then again, I am a classic rock/blues guy from way back... so thats part of my interest in those albums. When the 80s rolled around i was into the stuff that was uniquely 80s.. like what i'm listening to all this week ! New Wave, Post-Punk, Synthpop were very high on my listening back in 1981-1985. I got back into 60s-'70s music heavily in 1986 or so... and then added blues to the mix. In 1989 .. i picked up on Industrial, EBM, Hip-Hop and Metal sounds.. and went nuts for all 4 of them. By the end of the 90s.. I was listening to probably 40-50 genres of music on a pretty regular basis. Now i woul say i listen to twice that many.. most recently adding Bluegrass, Dancehall Reggae, Drum N Bass, Lots of different World music, and a bigger appreciation for Goth and dark wave. -It's all lovely, if you bother to look for it.

Tull.. wow.. I used to own 22 Tull albums. I have listened heavily to about 8-9 of them. I think Stand Up, Benefit, Aqualung, This Was, Living in the Past, Crest of A Knave and maybe too Old to Rock N Roll, Too young to die are essentials for any music lover... add in Thick as a Brick, Warchild, Songs From the wood, Minstrel in the Gallery, Heavy Horses and Passion Play for more seasoned fans... and if you are STILL seeking Tull after all that, there are a few more decent albums like Broadsword and the beast, "A", Stormwatch, Catfish Rising and Underwraps... I love my Tull.. :) - E

i'm the same way... i am doing 36 weeks of genre lietening, then i am going back through those genres to explore particular bands... BOC is one I really want to hear more of. I need to go eat, be back in a bit. - e

ohhh.. I like that one too. I used to have on Cassette as well, and i've not heard it in 15 years or more. Tyranny and Mutation is my very favorite... Secret treaties is second..but there are quite a few albums of thiers i've not heard at all.. so much to hear !! so little time !!! - Elijah
