Yeah I had seen the Snowbringer Cult was (oddly!) still available. Major label artists only earn 10-15% royalties, the rest goes to the label and/or RIAA. I would buy things from independent labels / artists, but I get sent most of the stuff that I want for free. XD The best way to support an artist to where they actually get a bigger % of the money is going to gigs, which I will perhaps be able to do more of now that I am in the Bay Area! :D

I only bought two physical copies this year (The Horrors - 'Primary Colors' on CD, "Who Can Say" vinyl single) - I was gonna buy those Natural Snow Buildings things but they sent them to me *endless glee*. :D everything else was artist-submissions for review at AFIN (mailed in or e-mailed) or digital. CDs hardly offer an advantage over digital, since as interest has declined they very rarely offer any nice extras, anything much in the booklet, and so on (say anything to me about sound quality, and I will toss you over the edge of a cliff ;P). I do like vinyl records, but more so I have something bigger to look at and potentially hang up on my wall! Plus there's no way I could ever afford all of the music I've been able to hear digitally this year, thanks to Last.fm, music blogs, and recommendations!

Mm, I get you. I didn't tag them as black metal. Some of their recent works do incorporate black metal elements however. You just have to listen to bands like Drudkh or Fen to get what I mean.
