Yeah, It's finally time to sum up what has happening in 2010. On the personally plan, this hasn't been the best year for me, do to some loses. But it has been a good year when it comes down to music. But I'm really looking foward to go into the next year. 2011 is definitely going to be an interesting year for me, both when it comes to music and personal challenges, but more about that later.

I will first start up with listing those albums which have disappointed me, and then list all those albums which sounded as you might expected, you know "The decent kind of album, which is okay, but won't make it into your top 20". I hope I can remember all the stuff that has been released, otherwise leave me a comment below if I left something out.

The disappointments:
A Day to Remember - What Separates Me from You
A Day to Remember released this album at the end of the year. I've become really into ADTR 's music lately, but I most say this album disappointed me. I can't really put a finger on why it did so. But I like all their other albums better, and therefore I most say it was a bit of disappointment to me. But don't get me wrong, it's still a decent album with some great songs.

Taproot - Plead The Fifth
It's like Taproot tried to return a bit to their old sound with this record, but it never really caught my attention. Maybe it's all due to I've grown a bit tired of the whole Hard Rock genre lately. Taproot has always been a different sounding band, but somehow I don't feel they live up too their potential with this album. My favorite album with them is still Blue-sky Research, and I think PtF is far away from BsR class.

Disturbed - Asylum
Waurw, what a disappointment this was for me. I've really been looking foward to this album, it was one of the albums I've the biggest expectations too this year, but it failed so badly imo. The whole album is too generic, it really feels like one big song. There are a few good songs on it, but that's all.

I can't remember anymore albums which disappointed me this year. But I'll add more If some should appear in distant memory. It's usually hard for me to remember the albums that disappoints, because I usually block them out xD

The albums which were as I expected
Bad Religion - The Dissent of Man
A decent record, which sounds like their previous record, with some decent songs. So nothing suprising here, it's Bad Religion as you know them,

Trapt - No Apologies
Definitely one of Trapt's greatest record, maybe their best. But yet, their sound is still pretty much the same. This album definitely contains some good songs like Sound Off, End Of My Rope, No Apologies and Beautiful Scar. But it isn't the kind of record which will blow you away because of its' awesomeness, or well, it didn't had that effect on me xD

Papa Roach - Time of Annihilation
Well, since this album mostly is a live album, it would be hard to put it the category as "one of the best of 2010". There's 5 studio track on it. Some good tracks for sure, especially Burn, so a pretty good release without the big surprises.

Flobots - Survival Story
Definitely a good follow up for "Fight With Tools". Flobots have definitely become some of my favorite Hip-hop artists. They're always very political, and pretty different from all the other stuff you hear in hip-hop. Tracks which is especially worth checking out on this album are Airplane mode, Defend Atlantis and White Flag Warrior. White Flag Warrior is featuring Tim McIlrath from Rise Against, which I thought was a bit cool :D

Birds of Tokyo - Birds of Tokyo
A decent album definitely. For me this album has a more calm sound than their previously album. Therefore it also have a different feel than their other albums. But I digg it. I think it's nice to chill out too. Some of my favorites from the album are Circles, Wild at Heart and The Dark Side of Love.

Alright, Now I'm going to fun part. My favorites of 2010, which is the albums which surprised me the most in a positive manner. If you feel like it you can leave a comment here about which albums that disappointed you this year.
