A friend asked me on Facebook what Petra songs I'd like to hear covers of. There was a cover album of Petra songs many years ago called Never Say Dinosaur: A Tribute to Petra… what would I put on a Never Say Dinosaur II in 2009? Hmm. Well, let's brainstorm here:

Family Force 5 - they could bring a really fun vibe to Get Back To The Bible from Petra
Ashley Cleveland - a mother's touch for Mary's Song from Washes Whiter Than
Pillar - would ROCK It Is Finished from Beat The System
Stellar Kart - could do an energetic take on Whole World from Back To The Street
Newsboys - would do a great job on Ready, Willing, and Able from Unseen Power
tobyMac - could fill in some details on Sally (a song about a Christian girl who loses her way) from Come & Join Us
Thousand Foot Krutch - They could totally pound it on Underneath The Blood from Wake-Up Call
Skillet - could bring some really raw heart to In The Likeness Of You from Unseen Power (or could sear our eyebrows off on Mine Field from On Fire!)
Chris Tomlin - could make us fall back in love with Love from Beyond Belief
Britt Nicole - could bring some feminine enthusiasm to I Love The Lord from Petra Praise: The Rock Cries Out
Steven Curtis Chapman - after what his family has been through recently, I would cry my eyes out if I heard him sing Grave Robber from Not Of This World
Superchick - more girl energy for Heart of a Hero from No Doubt

Wouldn't it be cool to showcase some of the underappreciated gems from the Petra catalog? :)
