Btw man, have you watched The Revenant already? Now that Leo finally got his Oscar I’m getting interested in the movie he got it for lol.

True, I guess it's a bit of a Southern rapper thing, now that I'm thinking about it there are quite a few rappers besides Gucci and Future who have always been releasing projects quite frequently, even Young Jeezy used to, I think. / I like it as well, like you said that short piano loop and the bassline sounds pretty grimey - and his flow is amazing as usual. I'm not sure whether the song is supposed to end up on a project though, it's probably just a loose track, similar to the single he did with Kaytranada a while ago. / Yeah, bascially it's just Kanye being Kanye lol. But it’s not the first time he has rushed a release, I read somewhere that he actually performed new vocals on MBDTF 3 hours before he was supposed to turn it in. / I haven’t listened to Gotti’s new album yet, would you recommend it. Speaking of which; have you checked Jeezy’s latest album (Church In These Streets) yet? I have it in my iTunes but haven’t listened yet.

Man that whole release process was crazy. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a marketing move, I mean he has married into a family who have pretty much perfected generating publicity lol. So he has probably learned a thing or two from Kim when it comes to that. I don’t know what the issue is with him exactly, but it seems to have gotten worse over time lol. I'm a big fan of Kanye's album but for some reason all this bullshit made me really disinterested in his new album. I'll wait until I'm in the mood for it.

I agree concerning the lack of diversity with Future’s releases. I’d rather he takes his time and releases something akin to DS2, that album had the perfect balance between bangers and more melodic, calm tracks imo. Or maybe Beast Mode 2 with Zaytoven for something completely different stylistically since Metro and Southside have been so dominating lately and their drum patterns sound don’t seem to have changed much at all. / Yeah, pretty much. They have a pretty unique style as it is and usually their beats suit them perfectly. / AFAIK it’s only a single track but I think he mentioned wanting to drop another mixtape this summer a while ago. But there haven’t been any news about it so far. It’s nothing special but still nice to listen to, especially while driving haha.

Nope, I hadn’t heard of them but I’ve just looked up a couple of their tracks on Youtube, pretty atmospheric stuff, esp. “darkness descends”, I could really imagine that as a sample for a 3 6 beat. / Yeah, if Future is going to keep up the pace like that we’ll probably see a new release every month or so. Evol is definitely better than Purple Reign though. / Haha, definitely, I really like that beat as well. Rich Nigga Timeline is probably my favorite Migos mixtape as well, I love the intro – just 6 minutes of Quavo, Offset and Takeoff straight up killing the beat. I haven’t listened to their entire discography as well, only the more recent releases. I looked up a couple of their old songs but I didn’t enjoy them as much as their newer ones. / Have you listened to Freddie Gibbs’ new song “Money, Cash, Hoes” yet?

Sorry for the late reply man, I’ve been pretty busy this past week and didn’t have much time to check last.fm. / Right, Prurient actually did many of those slower, atmospheric ambient tracks and I consider many of them among his best songs. If you liked “Christ Among The Broken Glass” you might also want to check out “Postscript – coke cunts”, “Palm Tree Corpse”, “Washed Against The Rocks” and “Strict Ideas” (although there’s lots of distortion, it’s still relatively calm by Prurient’s standards), they all have this soundtrack feeling to them imo./ Man, who are you telling? I’ve got like 250 albums in my backlog currently. Speaking of new albums; Future released EVOL today! I didn’t know he was planning to release even more music than he did last year but considering that it’s barely February and he’s dropped two projects already, I won’t be surprised. / Flying coach is cool, I like their funny songs as well, especially their bird adlibs (when they’re trying to imitate bird noises lol)

Haha, Prurient is an acquired taste for sure. It definitely took a while for me to be able to really “listen” to Noise music, it’s a genre you’ll have to ease yourself into. Do you remember which songs you listened to? His material actually greatly varies stylistically; some of his songs are almost unlistenable white noise whereas others are melodic ambient tracks. Btw, I’ve been listening to a lot more rap lately as well, usually I listen to music in phases, i.e. I might have an electronic music phase or a post-rock phase for a couple of months but for the last 6 months it’s been mostly hip hop/trap. /Purple Reign has grown on me a lot over the last couple of days as well, I especially like “No Charge” and “Alright”. It doesn’t have as many highlights as Monster, Beast Mode or DS2 imo, but overall most of the tracks are quality. / I like it too, it’s a really cohesive release. What do you think about the last song “Chapter 1”? Might be one of my favorite tracks by them so far.

Well, Vulnicura would probably be considered Art Pop or "Experimental Pop" (if I was mean I'd say that Björk has been doing what Lady Gaga fails to imitate for 20 years); it's a very personal album and a great listen if you like that type of music / are in the mood for it. Frozen Niagara Falls is actually a mix between Noise, Power Electronics and (Dark) Ambient music, so pretty much electronic. This, again, is a very personal album as well and my favorite release by Prurient so far, but probably not easy to digest if you have never listened to music like that (honestly, even as a fan of him, a lot of music from those genres is too abrasive for my taste). / Cocaine Muzik 8 sounds interesting, I'll check it out. / Right, have you listened to it already? / Btw, Young RIch Niggas 2 dropped today!

It definitely is, Caffeine is considered a psychoactive substance AFAIK. Actually, I don’t like the taste of black coffee either but my company has an amazing coffee machine - the cappuccino and espresso are the bomb lol. They taste better than Starbucks and it’s even better that they’re free! / Exactly, it’s a bit like a barbecue in the sense that it’s meant to be enjoyed in a group! / Damn, you just reminded me that Big K.R.I.T. released a project last year as well, I already forgot about it. So far my Top 4 would be DS2, Frozen Niagara Falls by Prurient, Vulnicura by Björk, IYRTITL by Drake. There are quite a few albums I haven’t listened to however, such as GY!BE’s new album, which I have high hopes for. What are those other albums besides DS2 & Trapology? Those are the only ones I recognized lol / Have you heard Mike Will & Future’s new leaked song “Al Sharpton”?

Haha, I’m pretty much in the same boat concerning resolutions though I kinda have two things; one is I wanted to reduce wasting time with pointless stuff and the other one is I wanted to drink less coffee. Actually I never drank coffee until I started uni and over time it slowly became a habit and I used to drink like 2 or 3 cups a day. / Man I love raclette, it’s very popular here as well, I have fond memories of eating raclette on NYE with my family when I was younger lol. / Yeah, I saw it as well, it looks like he’ll have to finish his sentence. I really hope he stays out of trouble for good when he gets out he’s too good of an artist to be locked up all the time. Then again, it’s Gucci Mane we’re talking about lol. / Have I already asked you about your favorite albums of last year?
