Man I just checked that we had some correspondence in the past and so I checked out your profile, to find that the last music that got scrobbled by you was Kara's Coordinates. So now I'm imagined you've decoded the message and jumped to the proper coordinates, hence the lack of further presence here.

So, I had never heard of Austra before and they're really cool. The gig they're gonna play in Brazil is supposed to be on the very same festival Björk was headlining... until she cancelled. =( Vocal chord problems, she said. I've already filled a refund, so I'm not seeing Austra as well. I guess I'll check that Miike Snow you mentioned... I need some new music. Oh, I've heard Madonna will play Australia after almost 20 years. You like her? I've just bought a ticket to one of her Brazilian concerts. The '08-'09 tour was really something! Got to see her from a 20-feet distance... Really tiny, but all the same incredibly magnetic woman. =)

Yeah, Lana's lyrics are kinda naïve, but she has good verses now and then, like on "Carmen" This part always gets to me: "She says: - You don't wanna be like me, you don't wanna see all the things I've seen. I'm dying, I'm dying." Anyways, it's like you said: the music is really good, with A+ production, and that's what really matters at the end of the day. Lately I've been listening a lot to Patrick Wolf and really paying attention to him. "The Bachelor" is an awesome record! "Lycanthropy" is really good too, but I can't seem to get my mind around "Wind In The Wires". Favourite track so far is "Blackdown"... It's just lovely and intense. Also had a great surprise today: my favourite band ever has released their new single and I've been playing it all day long (40 plays and counting). If you feel curious about Finnish music, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eqH7e9WqjE Care to share any stuff of your own? =)

LOL! "NOH Without Words" stands for "Night Of Hunters Sin Palabras (Without Words)", the instrumental version of NOH. ;) You know, I've only watched a couple of iamamiwhoami videos and, like I said, I can see that there are really talented people with interesting concepts behind it. The music just doesn't have any appeal on me, thou'. It's one of those taste matters, where you just can't really figure out why you prefer A over B. As for Marina, she's funny, fierce, acid, but often much too loud for my standards. I much prefer Lana del Rey and I don't really care what anyone says about her. She's talented, beautiful and sweet, IMO. Her voice and singing are just so... alluring. =P It's a shame that she can't deal with live audiences. Anyway, it is great that we have this incredible wave of new and independent artists. It's happening here in Brazil too. Last year we had a indie band achieving huge success with a YouTube hit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW0i1U4u0KE Cool, right?

P.S.: I have listened to iamamiwhoami, but it's just not quite my style. I mean, it's interesting and hype and cool and whatever are the correct terms, but not something I'd really enjoy listening to. =) What do you think about Marina & the Diamonds and Lana del Rey, BTW?

Thank you! I spent months trying to figure out which old Tori song the second part of "Edge Of The Moon" reminded me of and you're right, it is "Flying Dutchman". I haven't heard that one in ages! I'll sleep better tonight, not having this on my mind anymore. =P As for Tori's singing style, yeah, I kinda agree with you. It's become often irritating or even plain weird. My guess is she has abused her voice. I mean, the touring she's done over the past 20 years is INSANE! No one does that (not any of the artists I listen to, at least). That's why her voice sounds "older" than she actually is and Björk, who's almost the same age as Tori, sounds much fresher. The new singing style, IMO, is just a way of trying to compensating the loss of voice power. (Kate Bush, BTW, was never much of a "tourer" at all, so you really can't compare both cases. Don't get me wrong. I do like Mrs. Bush, but the situations are just too different.) Have you tried "NOH Without Words", BTW?

Oh, come on, you gotta admit that at least "Edge Of The Moon" is classic Tori. The second part of it reminds me so much of the BFP era, but I guess you're right: Tori's not as gutsy as before. The thing is I don't believe that's a problem. It's only natural that you become a more well-balanced human being as time goes by, don't you think? As for "Biophilia", I do agree on "Hollow" (and "Dark Matter", for that matter) being boring, but the rest of it is great. The beats on both "Crystalline" and "Mutual Core" are awesome, but my favourite is "Sacrifice". The beats there are... intense!

Well, I remember listening to TBK a lot when it came out, which hasn't happened with any of the albums that came afterwards, except for AATS. The Xmas album doesn't count, since it's supposed to be listened to for 2 weeks a year. =P Also I'm having a hard time with NOH. There are 5 songs there I love ("Fearlessness" is AWESOME, BTW), but, 'thou I admit the rest of it is really good, it just doesn't do it for me. =/ Hey, what do you think about Björk's "Biophilia", by the way?

Sure. The remaining songs are great in their own right, but they just don't work well in the record. Anyways, I think that ADP is the Tori album that would most desperately need some editing. The tracklist is just insane, and not in a good way! AATS holds it together even in its full version, but ADP is all over the place. Worst Tori album, IMO.

Hey there. Saw you commenting on "AATS" and I have to say your "edition" of the album is exactly the same as mine. Those 12 songs alone would make a killer record! ;)

oh cool thanks - i'll check it out! if you ever in the mood for some electrnoic you can try Jarre a bit more. i heard a 'best of' once and that particular one had something similar to 'single edits'. not sure if they're all like that. so i always felt his albums were something you had to immerse yourself in fully. :)

I've already seen you in some shoutboxes around here, agree completely with your recent shout at the Video Games page and our tastes are similar enough. Thought it was worth an add. :)

Yeah, it was #1 for sure. Good names there. I had Rise Against, Bon Iver, Illy, M83, Friendly Fires, The Tallest Man on Earth, Avalanche City, Lupe Fiasco and a couple more. Might have had some Florence if I knew the album better when I voted. Overall is was pretty happy with the list, predictable as it was.

I'd love to know the hours spent on Last.fm looking around, doing nothing. That would be an impressive amount too. Kimbra was alright, we were chilling on the grass so I didn't really get into it but she's sounded good. I've heard the same thing about Gotye, I'd love to see him. Where did you see the show? I hate that overplaying songs has such an impact on people's opinions of bands. Speaking of, did you vote in the Hottest 100?

Awesome—the cellists did 3 encores. Never heard an audience stomp so much. I do get to see and meet some pretty cool people at the enmore. Aimee Mann, Ben Kweller, Florence + the M & Brian Wilson have been my favourite shows. The Village People and the B52s lots of fun too! Looking forward to Blondie and The Pretenders next week. But I have pretty specific taste, so I don't care for most of the stuff that plays there..think it's making me a bit deaf. Probably prefer classical. Here's a link for that thing:http://www.digitalconcerthall.com/

eya! I wasn't there on Saturday night, but I went to see the 12 Cellists ' on Sat arv—were fantastic. Didn't see Philip Glass at the Sydney fest, unfort, but I was at the Jonsi show. I work at the Enmore but got the night off so I could enjoy it properly :). How was the Philharmonic on Saturday? Am considering a digital concert hall subscription..
