Akon is already taking up the charts with his "Smack That" single – so it seems as though he's taking advantage of the great hype he already has by releasing another single from his album to give us all a taste of what's to come. The single isn't all that upbeat, which is refreshing.

What is it with JoJo?!

Okay, so it's been a few weeks now since JoJo's album dropped, and still… I've been listening to it non-stop. I usually only listen to a CD as much as I have with JoJo for a week… not much longer than that. So what the hell is it with "The High Road?" It's hard to say… Could it be the cool beats? The fun lyrics, JoJo's voice that is far more mature than her age (what is she, like 15?) I do have some idea of what tracks keep me interested…

Monica; "The Makings Of Me"

Monica's new album hit stores today – and let me say it's incredible! Although it's short in length; a mere 10 tracks; each song is awesome, and well worth atleast one listen!

Monica's music usually seems like it's always upbeat, but "The Makings of Me," while featuring some club tracks ("Everytime Tha Beat Drops"), takes a more relaxed, and smooth R&B approach. In my opinion, the new formula works out excellent, especially for those who have a soft-spot for quiet storm music.

The lead single from Sovereign's first actual album "Public Warning" is here… and it's (thankfully) been released in both the United Kingdom and in the United States thanks to Island Def Jam Music Group. Lady's been touring the United States quite a bit lately, so hopefully it's beginning to pay off. The new track doesn't leave anything about her hidden – she's blunt, and says she "doesn't give a fu*k" what you think about her… she's good. Check it out!!

The confirmed third single from Nelly Furtado to be released in the United States is here. They switched it up on me… two weeks ago "Say It Right" was to be the second single – now it's "Maneater." "Say It Right", yet another track produced by heavyweight Timbaland. Timbaland creates a mystic type sound for the track, while Nelly takes a step back from the steady club bangers. The track overall is very well rounded, and should please the fans who haven't…
