So apparently when This is Me Smiling said 'We're done for now, sorry" they actually meant, "We're going to record 24 songs now, Hurrah!"

According to a blog post put up yesterday on the bands myspace the 24 shiny new songs will be released in 2 sets of 12 very soon!

Well, as for the ambiguous "We're done for now, sorry.":

Our attempt at making a record was a failure in the studio and we pretty much blew our budget with nothing to show for it. The experience sucked the remaining life out of the songs that we'd already spent countless hours practising and demoing, and it created personal tension within the band that will probably take a long time to ease. We're somewhere…

Right. This is Me Smiling will be making their way to the studio in mid January 2008 to record the as yet untitled new album. The official blog shouts proud that the songs are chosen and the studio time is booked so get ready for a new album sometime in 2008.

We've signed a record contract with Onehaven, an imprint on Columbia records, and they will be (re)releasing our self-titled album to be available in stores on March 6th. A new website should be up in a few weeks to coincide with the release.
