I would kill someone if I had to live in the city. Anyways, I've been under the impression that Lowell has better Math and Physics (and CS?), but that Amherst had better Engineering. Overall, I have no idea but I only really care about sciences. Computational linguistics is basically anything in linguistics research that also uses computers. Speech recognition and synthesis, parsers/computational syntax, machine translation, data mining, corpora compilitation, content tagging, automated morphology and lexicon building… it's a pretty broad field.

Amherst has better engineering, plus fuck Lowell. I hate cities. Amherst is the closest I can get to living out in the woods for the time being. And I'm taking ling mainly because it's interesting and I know enough CS to do computational linguistics research next year, apparently. Although I do want to move to Fenno-Scandinavia, and linguistics certainly helps with that. What computer stuff? And which serious problems?

Yeah the hard sciences/mathematics majors tend to have a very low number of metalheads, for some reason. I am indeed a freshman, technically my majors are Computer Systems Engineering and Linguistics, but the CSE major requires concentrations, and mine is mathematics, which brings me to one class short of a minor, and I'm probably just going to make it a major (and maybe drop ling to a minor) as I like mathematics and programming more than anything. I know what you mean about the music thing, I have a chiptune project which isn't getting any attention, and I've been meaning to work on "real" instruments for a while but haven't ever prioritised it enough. A friend of Sean's and mine is getting really into quantum computing so I'm picking up a bit of physics knowledge as well through him, definitely not as intuitive for me but very awesome. But as http://masksoferis.wordpress.com/2010/06/10/math-rage/ claims, physicists are inferior. ;) Good call on playing Necrophobic too.

I do! Mr. Clisthert and I go to university together, he's the reason why I found out about Adversarian. Nice to know other mathematicians can make good music. :) Love how you garner all these christian commenters too, hahaha.

Greetings sir. I've been in army trainings and I'm deploying to Kuwait very soon but I will have the internet there and will be back here around late November. I hope life and the Universe has been treating you well but more importantly that you've been treating yourself and it well. Hope to catch up with you in some time, cheers!

Hey, I know we don't know each other, but I'm certain you will appreciate my music, according to what you like on here. Perhaps you have heard of my other band "Vision Éternel", however this is for my new band: "Soufferance, Vision". The debut full-length was just released on Valse Sinistre Productions, and I think you would really enjoy it. You can find out more info on the myspace: http://www.myspace.com/soufferance. I am selling my copies with additional handmade bonus material (which also includes a bonus cd) for a total price that is cheaper than from the label. You can email me if you want a copy: soufferance@gmail.com. Alex

LOL! Sure, I know ID. In Dawkins' "God Delusion" he describes this movement. And it is not only in the U.S., it is in Europe, too. Here in Germany, for example, there is a private school for christians where they teach this crap. But such movements are here in islamic societies also huge. So this mental terror comes from both sides. Haha, irreducable complexity? This is so ridiclious. How can they ignore the "fact" that their god is the most irreducable complexity ever? And how / why is 'she' existing?

Yes, but science and philosophy have to be free of dogmas. And they ARE free because it is their duty. They fight dogmas - and that's really good. Ah okay, I know that the South is full of evangelical idiots. Its like here in europe: In countries like germany, england, france or sweden you'll find more secular units. But in Italiy, Spain, the Balkan (I'm from Croatia, but I live here in germany) and so on you'll find religious bullshit. By the way, you've an interesting blog!

LOL yeah, thats a normal argument. "My God is immune of logic HAHA". Holy shit he isn't, otherwise he wouldn't be able to create or you wouldn't even find the idea of an god. Religion has to be crushed. We have philosophy and we have science. Thats pretty better, freer and more progressive than any religion. I speak with "8goth" how you see because he lives also in the United States we're over a half of the population prays to an absurd god. How do YOU live there?

all my friends that study physics act a bit like they are god sometimes for fun because they have a strong connection to black holes hahaha (this probably sounded weird). Well im pretty sure you have other interests but its quite cool you decided to put some effort in that area somehow :) Ah yeah, darkspace is really brilliant. Any good gigs on the way?

You're wiser than a lot of people I've met. Maybe it's because I don't know many people, I haven't got the slightest idea.

You speak in numbers! Obviously you're a jew mathematician who maths his way to hell!

are you kidding? Based on his descriptions I described the Germans as 3 meters tall winged Immortals whose heads turn into cannons, and Russians as the same thing but with the ability to pull bears out of their noses and what he answered was "no, Russians aren't the same". I told him he is so gullible he would believe a tomato and he said that he doesn't need an opinion of his own. Zero ability to make even fundamental judgement of an obviously non serious sentence. If you tell him the Jews visited you in your sleep and told you to murder goats,he'll buy it.

He has already denied that. The son, he said, existed before all worlds and is therefore not jewish.

That's not funny...Jews have needles and, after they open your skin, they suck your blood with straws. They prefer Christian blood.

From his descriptions, I have come to believe I can easily recognise the Evil Jews: They look, more or less, like this: http://scrapetv.com/News/News%20Pages/Health/Images/gimli-lord-of-the-rings.jpg

I'm interested in music and human psyche. I'm interested in English too, I'm from Poland.

I understand. If there is no compulsion to learn something, you can get to like it and be interested in that, right?

I've never understood physics and math isn't the most important thing to me. I'm rather a humanist, I don't like the sciences. I envy you for you understand and like it.

Perhaps. I don't agree about gravity, it obviously wasn't meaningless, as it affected every person every day of their lives, even if they didn't know what it was. From the statement in your about me section, it is obvious that you have very different views from C.S. Lewis and from myself. In fact, you could say the opposite. Where Lewis' statement holds truth for me, it will not for you. Anyway, that's the last I will say about the quote!
