I've noticed my listening habits typically fall into one of four overarching genres at any given time:
1. IDM, its subgenres, its predecessors and its recent incarnations
2. Modern "industrial", such as EBM, futurepop, electro, and so forth
3. Ambient, mostly spacey stuff, but sometimes with a bit of dark, dub, or techno mixed in
4. Metal, ideally of the power, symphonic or folk variety, though sometimes black or death
