This is another idea I got from Girlsallowed. Truthfully, I've seen this in lots of my friends journals, but this is my first time doing one. I think i'll enjoy this task…
1.) How did you get into 29? (Sarah Vaughan) - Hmm, let's see. Well, I had heard of her ever since I was a kid, but I didn't listen to her until about 2009. After I heard Misty I was more or less hooked.
2.) What was the first song you ever heard by 22? (Smokey Robinson and The Miracles) - This is a toughie! I've grown up with them so long….I'll go out on a limb and say The Tears Of a Clown.
3.) What's your favorite song by 14? (Lady GaGa) - She's made some good ones, but my favorite would probably be Poker Face followed very closely by Bad Romance.
4.) What is your favorite album by 16? (LeAnn Rimes) - To be truthful I do not own all of her albums, but still it's probably Blue.
5.) How many albums by 13 do you own? (Jessica Simpson) - I own every Jessica Simpson album with exception to the two Christmas albums, so that's five.
6.) What is your favorite song by 17? (Loretta Lynn) - Without a doubt Hey Loretta. I can't get enough!
7.) Is there a song by 7 that makes you sad? (Christina Aguilera) - hmm, not really. I guess Cruz makes me a little teary-eyed. but only a little.
8.) What is your favorite album by 5? (Bessie Smith) - Bessie Smith only has compilations and was performing at a time when there were no such things as albums. With that in mind my favorite compilation is the second volume of JSP's retrospective box set on her entitled Empress of the Blues.
9.) What is your favorite song by 15? (The Supremes) - There is a trilogy of singles released right after the other that started with the 1964 release of Come See About Me, but my absolute favorite is definitely 1965's Back in my arms Again.
10.) Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy? (Britney Spears) - Lots of songs by "the legendary ms. Britney Spears" make me happy! but at the top of that list is Thinkin' About You.
11.) What is your favorite album by 10? (Dinah Washington) - Dinah '62 is a particular favorite.
12.) What is your favorite song by 12? (Teena Marie) - I LOVE practically everything this woman ever made in her brief lifetime. I guess to single out one song it would be Ooo La La La.
13.) What is a good memory you have involving 8? (Dolly Parton) - Me and my younger brother joke all the time about Dolly's excellent sense of humor in interviews. I'll never forget an interview where Dolly joked that as a kid she looked up to a hooker her mother referred to as "trash." When her mother asked Dolly what she aspired to be? Dolly said "I want to be trash!". My brother rags me on that all the time!
14.) What is your favorite song by 20? (Rihanna) - Say It.
15.) Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy? (Janis Joplin) - As Good as you've Been to this World.
16.) How many times have you seen 25 live? (Patti LaBelle) - Oh, I wish! I've been trying to get my mother to take my to a Patti LaBelle concert for about the past six years to no avail. I've always said that even if Patti was 90 yrs old and in a wheel chair, she'd still blow the roof off the place! I LOVE her!
17.) What is the first song you ever heard by 23? (Prince) - Pretty sure it was 1999.
18.) What is your favorite album by 11? (Connie Francis) - Gold.
19.) Who is a favorite member of 1? None, Mariah Carey don't do duets bay-bay *.*
20.) Have you ever seen 24 live? (Monica) - Nope, but would love too.
21.) What is a good memory involving 27? (Mýa) - Oh, I have a good one! Having one of the best years of my life in December 2006 at the Toys for Tots motorcycle parade in Chicago and having nothing playing in my head, but Mýa's My First Night With You (Ric Wake Version). Right after that I fell in love with a girl HARD! It was great!
22.) What is your favorite song by 29? (Sarah Vaughan) - Broken Hearted Melody.
23.) What is the first song you ever heard by 9? (Ma Rainey) - Ma Rainey's Black Bottom lol.
24.) What is your favorite album by 21? (Aretha Franklin) - I'm gonna have to take it back in tha' day with this one. I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You.
25.) What is your favorite song by 18? (Whitney Houston) - Although I have such a strong connection to Greatest Love of All, My mega-fav is and will always be (drumroll) You Give Good Love.
26.) What is the first song you ever heard by 26? (Karina Pasian) - 16 @ War. I heard it on the radio once and I didn't like it lol, but then I bought the album First Love and learned to like it.
27.) What is your favorite album by 4? (Etta James) - At Last!.
28.) What is your favorite song by 3? (Madonna) - hmmm, maybe Dress You Up.
29.) What was the first song you ever heard by 2? (Céline Dion) - Beauty And The Beast (from Beauty and the Beast).
30.) What is your favorite song by 30? (Janet Jackson) - Hands down He Doesn't Know I'm Alive!
