Thu 6 Nov – Danielson, Cryptacize

With over 10 years under their belts Danielson still puts on one of the best live shows around.

Sporting new custom made shoes the 7 member band, including all the members of Cryptacize, put on an extremely tight performance. The night was filled with party music, hand clapping, and plenty of smiles. I just dare you to go to a Danielson show and not smile, I'm pretty sure it is impossible.

With their new release of "Trying Hartz" a 2 CD retrospective of the last 10 years of music, the band brought out…

I recently download selections from album The Fairfax High School Marimba Band - Volume IV.

I'm not even sure why I did it. But I'm glad I did. I just can't get enough.

Give it a try. I'm sure you'll get hooked as well. Now I just need to find volumes I, II, and III. If you know where to get these lost gems let me know. Did they make more? I wanna know. If you know, let me know that too.

You know that feeling I'm talking about. Now I am pretty sure Led Zeppelin never did a Christmas album, nor did Bing Crosby let go and rock out as much as he should have. But what would of happened if they had gotten together and created a Christmas album?

It no doubt would have been a classic. Sadly this collaboration is an impossiblity. However, there is a consolation prize, the duo Fleming & John has created a small taste of what it could have been.

A few years ago I was encouraged to download a free Christmas album titled Krismus Karuls. It has become an underground classic mostly due to the vocal and artistic contributions from Nichole & The Dreamcatchers. However, there are some other contributions worth noting, including Half-Handed Cloud, The Mary Hamhocks, Mary Krismus, Create (!), My Marathon, Joel Pickell, and themorningcall.

So anyhow, I have placed these songs in our Christmas mix that plays at the house. Each time these songs come up via suffle play questions come from the wife,
