It seems that a lot of bands I'm interested in wanted to celebrate the beginning of the new decade. Compared to 2009 an flood of new promising albums has been released in 2010. I didn't even manage to listen to all of them beacause older albums sometimes/mostly have priority.

Blind Guardian - .At the Edge of Time
A nice blend of their Speed Metal roots and the more progressive elements of the last two albums. The soundtrack of my summer. At the Edge of Times secures Blind Guardian the status of my favourite band for the next five years.

Enforcer - Diamonds
This is older than old-school! This is Metal from the days before Venom took the stage. Not as fast as "Into the Night", but still punked-up Speed Metal with some glam influences - the best retro act out there!

World End's Girlfriend -Seven Idiots
The divine comedy revers: A descend from fast hyperactive game boy electronica, sounding like the score of some over-the-top japanese jump'n'run game, to disturbing soundscapes. Simply not rateable.

Les Discrets - Septembre Et Ses Dernières Pensées
Surprisingly much metal in here, not always for the better. Still a very romantic album, love Fursy's voice.

Alcest - Écailles de Lune
Screams and Black Metal drumming create the best Alcest song to date: Percées de Lumière The bifid title track is nice to but the rest of the album is just boring. A little bit disappointed.

Angels & Airwaves - Love
Solid work with three outstanding songs. Can't wait for the movie!

Wolfmother - Cosmic Egg
Not as good as the debut thpugh I have listened to few times yet to rate it properly.

Madsen - Labyrinth
Great dissapointement after the first listening. Still haven't managed to study it properly.

General developpement of my personal music taste:
More Rock, a little less Metal (not a twist in taste though). Black Metal vanished alomost completly from my playlist. Diving deeper into Post-Rock, Noise-Rock, Shoegaze, Progressive, Drone, Stoner.

Most important discoveries: Yndi Halda, Savage Grace
