melodic hardcore is Misery Signals, For The Fallen Dreams, It Prevails, The Ghost Inside, Saints Never Surrender etc. Set Your Goals, New Found Glory etc. is NOT. it's melodic punk at it's best. and/or pop punk.

Metalcore is like a mix between new (not nu) metal and old metal. There is such a thing as Metallic Hardcore, i.e. Sick of it All, Hatebreed, Madball, and shit like that.

How are people saying that melodic hardcore isn't a genre? Of course it's a genre you tards. Bands are so different now, well, most bands sound the same nowadays, but there's plenty of bands pushing the borders of genres which forces us to come up with a legitmate subgenre. Melodic Hardcore is legitamite. Beardcore and Orgcore are not. You can't just classify a band like The Carrier or Ambitions as just hardcore. Melodic Hardcore is an awesome genre. Probably my favorite. [2]

it's really difficult to set the borders in this genre, because there are alot of bands that have classical hardcore punk roots like strung out and ignite with influence from the first wave of hardcore punk like black flag and the dead kennedys but don't seem very "hardcoreish" compared to newer bands like The Carrier, Comeback Kid and stuff. But as long as there is no greenday on this page i think everything is okay :)
