Re: 69 Eyes They're disliked because they're another band on the order of HIM, Manson, and Within Temptation, who lack a bone of artistic ingenuity in their collective bodies, only regurgitating and capitalizing on popular media and modern adolescent misconceptions of what goth rock represents instead of keeping a shred of post-punk, darkwave, and deathrock influence (which is NOT limited to the 80's). Why is goth such a hard thing for so many to pin down? Depeche Mode aren't goth, but they're certainly closer to it than HIM or Nightwish. Skinny Puppy aren't goth they're industrial, and VNV Nation isn't even industrial they're EBM/futurepop dance music, despite that every other goth listens to them. London After Midnight and Nosferatu are goth, but that doesn't make them good. The fashion element of goth (and especially countless chains like Hot Topic that have appropriated it and sold it right next to skater and neo-punk clothing) is what has caused more confusion than anything else.

This tag is actually acurate yipee! finally :-) Still with h.I.m and evanessance would f*¥? off but there's nothing anyone can do about it I suppose. We need a system where bands can be removed from tags or challenged peer to peer moderating
