OK, I'm back, having listened to a couple of songs by TBDM. The songs I heard were most definitely melodeath, and had fuck all to do with deathcore. Can someone remind me why they're considered deathcore?

The Black Dahlia Murder is Melodic Death Metal by the way. The band has absolutely NO breakdowns, gang vocals, clean vocals, etc. in any of their songs. The band is much more similar to the old In Flames than it is to As I Lay Dying.

anyway, dont take the internet so seriously, people troll over here more often than not.....i dont know if you're new to this or what, but comments like "LOL at you" and "learn please" are some of the typical troll comments lol.... and no, there's no need for any constructive argument over a genre like deathcore lol...we are both entitled to our "opinions", so just fuck it at that....who cares anymore? i dont atleast :).... when i came to this shoutbox, i wasnt looking for any damn serious as fuck discussion :)..this genre hardly deserves so much if you know what i mean..so chill :)...and dont take shit on internet so seriously....troll and get trolled upon and you'll love it :D

Relating to deathcore itself, my actual opinion of it: it's not a genre I hate, but I'm not fussed on it either; I like Job for a Cowboy, The Faceless and Oceano, but little else from the genre. I also think BMtH and Despised Icon are crap.

@extrememetal999: Well, first off I'm glad your argument isn't coming from the perspective of a deathcore hater, that's a plus (I'm not too fussed on deathcore, but I'm not hateful of it either). The "actual experts" thing wasn't a major argument of mine, just an afterthought. I'm pretty knowledgable of metal genres, contrary to what you may believe, so if you're willing to have a constructive argument about deathcore, I'll have one; but lines like "LOL at you" and "learn please" make you look like an ass, no offense. I'll refrain from lines like that if you're willing to have a constructive argument. Up for it?

LOL at you :D ..."Actual experts" and such kind of arguments are generally given by those who dont know shit about genres themselves, and thus end up referring to "actual experts" and shit... btw for your info, i do enjoy some deathcore (:P) so there's no reason why'd i be butthurt about it being associated with death metal..and besides, i myself associated it with DM ; "having an influence of DM" is an association lol.....learn please :D

Because, for everyone's information, deathcore IS a hybrid genre of death metal and metalcore. The "-core" at the end doesn't change anything (the rap genres "horrorcore" and "nerdcore" are not more punk than rap, are they?). Plus actual experts on metal genres will consistently list deathcore as being that. You're just butthurt about something as odious as deathcore being associated with death metal.

@lordnecronus - deathcore is NOT metalcore PLUS death metal...it is NOT a hybrid genre of death metal and metalcore... it is metalcore with some (modern) death metal INFLUENCES... having influences from a certain genre is pretty much entirely a different thing from being a hybrid of that certain genre with some other genre........learn please....
