    The artwork is pretty but there's really nothing to the packaging, especially compared to the entire fold-out of Skeletal Lamping. It's just a skimpy cardboard sleeve. The least they could do is include a lyric booklet.

    After buying ‘Paralytic Stalks’ today, I was initially disenchanted by the packaging – especially in comparison to that of ‘Skeletal Lamping’ (Kevin Barnes used to say, “Everyone’s talking about my package” – not anymore). Nevertheless, charming though extravagant trimmings are, this new record’s music more than atones for presentational flaws. Always masterfully amalgamating seamless experimentation, lyrical complexity/simplicity and pop-power, the ilk of ‘We Will Commit Wolf Murder’ and ‘Ye, Renew the Plaintiff’ may eventually serve as synonyms for “multi-layered.” A fantastic return!
