That makes sense, throughout Two hunters they had that atmospheric synth going the whole album through, and they obviously dont use that live.

Well, they said they wanted to write music that would be easier to play live. So, less layers, ambiance and turning down the overall atmosphere in my opinion. The new album isn't bad, it's just not near as wonderful as previous releases.

I like the album artwork on Black Cascade quite a bit. I enjoy staring at it while I listen to the vinyl, as the big format makes it easier to enjoy. The logo is alright, though I think I'm with the people that prefer the old logo.

I love the album design and artwork and think the logo is alright. It represents the album as it is; more straight to the point and obvious than their former two albums.

@Krumbledkookie - Totally agree with you, if anything im completely guilty of snubbing this album. I listened to to a few times when it was first released and was blown away. But ignored it ever since! Thats gonna change. I do agree with people who dislike the album design and Logo i dont really feel for it myself either.

I continue to struggle with Black Cascade. I realize the challenge but at the same time it seems like they've lost some of their spark and already sound old and tired. If not that then I just keep picking the worst times to listen to it when I'm not in the mood. =/

@Windownig - That's exactly the point I was making. it takes more time to get into, because it's more challenging to the people who already like this band. People make it like it's some kind of fucking pop record. It's really quite excellent.

@Baurean - I see what you mean, about not buying into the intellectual "bullshitting" but i personally have a hard time separating the band's music from their eco-spiritual vision. I'm admittedly predisposed to that sort of perception of things anyway, and that in fact helped me to discover the band and then to appreciate them for all that they are. So I too could say that i appreciate them for their music only, but the music is inclusive of a great many things, to me at least.
