由Ken Jordan与Scott Kirkland组成的The Crystal Method在Vocal House盛行时期(90年代初)便在他们的家乡拉斯维加斯崭露头角。极强的理想主义，为他们致力于地下俱乐部文化的发展提供了用之不竭的[燃料]。终于在1994年，他们对音乐的不懈追求有了回报：他们得到了City of Angels厂牌的一纸合约。很快，首支单曲《Keep Hope Alive》在当时洛杉矶的Rave景致中获得了如潮的好评。当时的乐评人更愿意把他们当作乐队看待，因为他们的现场演出日程排得像摇滚乐队一般严严实实。不断的巡演，让Ken与Scott得到了乐迷广泛的支持。到了1996年，他们已成为了各大俱乐部与电台炙手可热的明星。97年的首张专辑《Vegas》厚积勃发，两人出奇的引入Hip Hop，Guitar加以Funky化的切磨，用TB-303制造出的Acid Beat又附上标准的美式科幻化疯狂色彩，可以说Vegas是Funky Beat的源头，也同时创造了Guitar Solo出现在Break Beat音乐中的先河。没有普通Big Beat那种肥厚的节拍，Crystal Method两人在这张专辑中所营造出来的是一种宛如在科幻空间中跃动而疯狂的意境。无论你是Acid与Funk的拥趸，还是Rock与Hip-Hop的死忠迷，你只有对此无懈可击的份了——热卖直接导致The Crystal Method成为了全球电音界的巨星。

10多年来，他们游刃有余地糅合各种音乐元素，从Hip-Hop、Soul到Rock乃至Pop…每张专辑总能出乎听众的意料。 2004年他们获得了3项舞曲奖项：最佳演出奖、最佳专辑(Legion of Boom)以及最佳单曲(Born Too Slow)。也就在同一年，乐队被格莱美提名为[最佳电子乐/舞曲组合]。毫无疑问，他们的出现颠覆了主流音乐界对电子乐的定义。

2004 年，The Crystal Method 发布他们的新唱片《Legion of Boom》.从他们在洛杉矶的地下防空洞改装的录音室里制作首张单曲以来，The Crystal Methods在美国电子音乐界掀起了一场重要的变革。成员Scott Kirkland和 Ken Jordan在洛杉矶记录下了他们制作这张唱片的过程。

这张唱片仍沿用旧的合作伙伴制作,包括2001年专辑《Tweekend》里合作过的Rage Against the Machine、Audioslave的吉他手Tom Morello和“石庙导航员”成员Scott Weiland，他们给这张唱片带来了多样的风格和变化。Limp Bizkit的前吉他手Wes Borland亦出现在专辑内的单曲“Weapons of Mass Distortion”、“Broken Glass” 和首支单曲“Born too Slow”中。

Don't like techno music so much, normally listen to dark atmospheric or indistrial rock, then I heard these guys, something a cut above the other techno mainstream but hardly spoken of, and now the only Techno music I choose to listen to.
