混凝土（The concretes）这是支来自瑞典斯德哥尔摩的女孩打头阵的队伍。成立于1995年，典型的大器晚成。他们的音乐像极了迷星（mazzy star），一个非常出色的女主音、动听的旋律和一派迷幻色彩的演奏，他们庞大的编制则让他们的音乐细节更加丰富有力，甚至被人拿来与约翰斯特劳斯媲美。 1998―1999年间，“混凝土”发行了他们的头两张EP，简单的命名为“EP第一号”和“EP第二号”。之后的2000年，他们将这两张EP合并起来，作为自己的处女专集发行，名为”boy,you better run now”，这张专集在美国独立场牌Up Records发行。之后几年，混凝土又加入了新成员：吉他手Daneil Varjo,和小号手Ludvig Rylander,音乐更加成熟丰满，他们也成立了自己的场牌licking fingers. 2004年，他们的第一张正式专辑终于面世，名称就叫《混凝土》。也就是本文介绍的这张专辑。混凝土率领一支小型交响乐团征服了听众。这些最棒的乐师打造出的音乐不是声音的碎片，而只能用优雅和脆弱来形容。抛开所有我们能想到的摇滚乐的陈词滥调，混凝土的惊人之处在于他们用曲折的手法再现了60年代经典女性团体微妙的一面而不是吵闹的一面，他们懂得如何在令人眼花缭乱的摇滚乐中把握住最纯净的东西。混凝土的处女作有着欢快向上、振奋人心的调子，同时也有更为深邃之处。他们并不是那种沉湎于自我矫饰的独立流行音乐，他们对黑暗的历史非常的了解。专辑中，”say something new ”里鼓手的演奏，仿佛是地下绒丝的迷幻衣钵；”warm night”更可见一斑，它和约翰斯特劳斯的《蓝色多瑙河》一样，运用了管弦、风琴和余音的合唱。科本说：“摇滚乐的未来属于女人”。也许吧，而这些来自瑞典的乐师却真正让我们听到了摇滚乐里久违的简朴与恬淡雅然。无论如何，这张混凝土的处女专辑从头至尾散发出的都是蔷薇式的经典，让人着实无法抗拒。
