The Black Keys组建于美国的俄亥俄州，与白色条纹一样，他们也是两人组合，由主唱兼吉他手Dan Auerbach和鼓手Patrick Carney组成，从这点来看，两支乐队成员连乐器分工都如此相似。在不可避免的被问及与白色条纹的关系时，乐队的成员说，在他们给自己的乐队起这个名字时，他们根本就没听说过The White Stripes。这么说是为了摆脱嫌疑还是事实，但从组建乐队的年份来看，白色条纹似乎还真比他们能早几年，The White Stripes早在1997就成军了，而The Black Keys的组建已是2002年的事了。
