The Black Dahlia Murder is a [[2] band from Waterford, Michigan named after the unsolved murder of actress Elizabeth Short, often referred to as The Black Dahlia. Their sound is influenced by bands like At the Gates, In Flames, Morbid Angel, Dissection, and Carcass. Their music makes use of the death metal sound, containing elements such as blast beats and fast death metal style riffs. Vocalist Trevor Strnad alternates between both deep, throaty “death metal growls” and a more high pitched scream. The band’s most popular songs include “Funeral Thirst”, “Miasma,” and “A Vulgar Picture”. They played in Ozzfest 2005 and also participated in the Sounds of the Underground tour in 2006, which encompasses both the US and Canada. They are also scheduled to play at Wacken Open Air festival in 2007.
Current bassist Bart Wiliams left his former band, Muskegon’s “Today I Wait” to tour with the Black Dahlia Murder. After touring with the band on their co-headlining run with Throwdown and their European dates with Liar, he joined the group full-time. Bart was one of two engineers (the other being Walls of Jericho’s Mike Hasty) on the the band’s first full length, ‘Unhallowed’.
Their most recent album Miasma peaked at 118 on The Billboard 200. Recently, Pierre Langlois left the band for a more secure lifestyle, and the band has currently begun to search for a replacement drummer.

those who find any similarity with albums as 'none so vile' also need to go to a clinic to get their ears checked up....and the bands from which one band is influenced from has nothing to do with what genre the band plays or not....just because they're influenced from Gorguts and Death doesnt make then "true" death metal for fuck's sake.... get some brains before saying things that have no proper reasonability...

Last nite I listened to Miasma, and it sounded like Cryptopsy's None so Vile. This is true death metal, guys. TBDM swears they're not deathcore because they are very influenced by Gorguts and Death. All of you guys are silly. No core in TBDM.
