泰迪汤普森1976年出生在伦敦。他是卡米拉汤普森的兄弟。在18岁的时候，泰迪移至洛杉矶继续他的音乐生涯，20世纪90年代作为一名歌手和吉他手在他的父亲理查德的乐队工作。从那时起，他似乎至少出了3 张专辑：你呢？我呢？我们？，现场专辑Celtschmerz （ 1998年） ，和模拟铎（ 1999年）。早在1993年他大量出现在他父亲乐队的录像中，包括在BBC的朱荷兰表演。
