这一切奇迹的发生都必须追溯到来自美国洛杉矶橘郡的Something Corporate
义和团中年仅19岁的主唱兼乐团创作灵魂Andrew McMahon，
他与钢琴上黑白相间的88个琴键所罗织起的摇滚梦幻。
自言年少时沉迷于Billy Joel/比利乔和Elton John/艾尔顿强的音乐甚深，
义和团有同为「橘郡出品」的老乡前辈Sugar Ray/甜蜜射线合唱团口碑传颂下
引起摇滚迷好奇，又因Drive-Thru音乐厂牌青睐关照备受瞩目，
再加上和AFI、Finch…等庞克摇滚劲旅皆来自出产Punk-rock的摇滚重镇-洛杉矶…
等多重因素浸染之下，2002年的EP『Audioboxer』
在未有任何宣传预算奥援下便在LA当地卖了十万张，
当初一手打红葛莱美乐团Godsmack “Voodoo”、
“Straight Out Of Line”的KROQ电台再度发功，
义和团的”iF yoU C Jordan”也一炮而红！
接续祭出的『Leaving Through The Window』笑傲Billboard热门潜力榜冠军
并获AMG音乐网站四星肯定！
也许是他们的出发过于精彩，2003年尾端出的【North/北方】便格外显得让人期待。
除了有制作人Jim Wirt(Incubus、Fiona Apple)执掌大局，
本辑邀得曾与艾尔顿强、大卫鲍伊合作的葛莱美镀金指挥Paul Buckmaster
引领26人编制管弦乐团与他们用音乐狂想出庞克与古典之间的冲突美，
“Musically, my goal in life has always been to touch people the way that
the first record did to me,” says Andrew.
「当年我听到Counting Crows/数乌鸦合唱团后对我人生所造成的冲击有多少，
我就要用同样的力量奔泄回去给歌迷，这就是我做音乐的目标。 」
Andrew信誓旦旦地说，我们也都相信他们一定做得到。
