The Beatles are justifiably lauded for how much ground they covered in just 7 years, I reckon Sly Stone deserves similar plaudits. From the classic soul of "A Whole New Thing" to the odd cocaine-numbed proto-disco of "Fresh" via the psychedelic fuzzbox funk of "Stand!"...seriously, there aren't so many artists who've been that innovative.
