Moore 在2004年加入美国post-hardcore乐队From First to Last,并担当主唱 ，在2007年离开乐队成为独立音乐人以前曾和该乐队录制过两张录音室专辑 。(《Dear Diary,My Teen Angst Has a Body Count》, 2004；和《 Heroine》, 2006) 　　

在2007年他开始了他作为独立音乐人的第一次巡演。在组成新乐队lineup之后，Moore加入了Alternative Press Tour以支持乐队如All Time Low，并出现在Alternative Press“年度100个你必须知道的乐队”出版的封面上。

在2009年发行EP《Gypsyhook》后，Moore计划与制作人Noah Shain录制他的录音室专辑处女作——Bells。然而，他终止了专辑的创作并且更名为Skrillex开始演出。自Skrillex在他的官方My Space主页发行可免费下载的EP专辑My Name is Skrillex后，他在2010年末和2011年中期分别放出了EP专辑Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites， 和EP专辑More Monsters and Sprites。两张专辑自此都有了些许商业上的成功。 　　2012年第54届格莱美颁奖礼，电子舞曲乐手Skrillex获得电影类最佳混音唱片奖、最佳舞曲录音奖。
