Having come to ten Holt via Douwe Eisenga and then the YouTube clips of Canto Ostinato, I took the plunge and bought the Complete Multiple Piano Music set. I've been listening to it for about 2 months solid now and am totally bowled over. There's an unbelievable amount to enoy here. Minimal music? Depends on what you mean by minimal: there's a wealth of subtle changes going on all the time, in front and behind, if you're prepared to take the time to really relax and LISTEN. Time just flows by, and the music carries you along and does in fact keep you happy. I really recommend Canto Ostinato and Horizon, though Shadow nor Prey doesn't do all that much for me. Why is ten Holt not better known? Probably because most people nowadays haven't the time or the stamina to sit and listen to one piece of music for 90 minutes or more. Shame on modern high-speed society!
