i listened to their debut six times or so. i dont remember much except the horribly overused piano/synth/whatever parts tbh

kosher, I actually don't know why you don't like this band. Even the debut is quite good for a doom's fan. It's inspired and handsome. It just looks like you've heard only Christ Goodbye, that is weak for doom metal's songwriting. :]

I personally think the older stuff is better. Veronica has a more polished feel to it, which is good. But then of course, the underproduced(not necessarily intentional) early stuff sounds more apt to the type of music they play.
