Yeah... its one of those dilemmas... try and pick 10 top guitar players... then you can recall ten more... and ten more and before ye know it... its a top 50!!! Great track though. Blackmore plays a mean set of strings!

to,doom,you are not including the fact that these musicians are not just picked for there ability with an instrument in there hands,but the studio and there performances stand alone and speak for themselves this is why page and blackmore are always rated at the top because they always kicked ass in a live setting

Yes, Brian May should be up there as well... remember that todays guitairst have a helluva bigger range of technology at their fingertips than they did 35 - 40 years back. What sort of sound would Hendrix have had if he had came through 30 years later? Think on that one.

Hell yeah, I would include Robby Krieger in a heartbeat... the stuff he played on the first Doors album was way ahead of what everyone else was playing at that time... it stood head and shoulders above the rest. I agree that he gets overlooked too much as most people can't see the other band members, past Jim Morrison!

I think Blackmore and Page are overrated guitarists. You see their names mentioned in Top 10 lists but rarely one acknowledges how innovative, special guitarist was Robby Krieger, for example.

I still think that Richie Blackmore is up there with Clapton, Hendrix, SRV, Beck, Page etc as one of the top ten best guitarists in the world.Was lucky enough to cath them on their final tour in 1983... still awesome. Great delicate track...
