A charity-single written/produced for Amnesty International and one more proof of Portishead's genius. An unexpected but sublime blend of Snythpop, Krautrock & Triphop + the amazing vocals of Beth Gibbons (of course :-)
5. I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris - Morrissey
Popmusic in perfection: short, catchy, melodic and a bit jingly jangly. Morrissey merges these attributes into a lovely and magnificent masterstroke.
6. I Don't Know - dredg
A powerful and emotional midtempo-hymn in classic Dredg-manner including a fantastic sung refrain - live even better!

10. Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) - Beyoncé
The only 2009 R'n'B of 2009 that I really adore. Cool, catchy, upbeat, addictive, gorgeous handclaps, great melody - brillant!
11. Omen - The Prodigy
A song you can dance to like a complete and utter idiot. Wonderful big-beat/breakbeat/electro-whatever at its finest!
12. Wrong - Depeche Mode
What a forceful and sinister midtempo dancefloor stomper - an outstanding DM-track with great lyrics.
13. Lighten Up, Morrissey - Sparks
The world's weirdest pop-band created a hilarious and super-funny glamrocking not-really-tribute to Morrissey. Moz likes it, Moz-fans like it, I like it and everything's fine.

Fabulous and fantastic British Indie rock. Well rocked, well sung - give this band a record contract!

2009, an unbelievably boring dancefloor-year - with the exception of this brillant rework of a brillant dancefloor classic.

Calm and atmospheric verses, loud and exploding refrain - an amazing schizophrenic song, outstanding.

A beautiful and melancholic blues-pop-song as only Chris Isaak is able to write - superb!
