Phoenix是法国巴黎的四个小伙子在1999年组成的一支用英语演唱的乐队。
2000年的处女作United让Phoenix一举成名，2004年发行的第2张专辑Alphabetical却褒贬不一。而他们的音乐风格在去年的第三张录音室专辑It’s Never Been Like That中变化了很多。
在历经好评如潮的第二张专辑Alphabetical发行，并结束巡回3大洲、150场的04/05年演唱会后，Phoenix决定远离世俗、直捣录音室，进行最新专辑制作工作。 四位团员Thomas Mars、Christian Mazzalai、Laurent Brancowitz及Deck d’Arcy选择了座落於东柏林，传说中闹鬼的旧录音室Planet Roc studios。 在05年夏天，当这4个巴黎大男孩进驻时，连一首歌都还没创作出来。在这个宽阔阴森的环境里，没有任何乾扰，同样也没有任何外援的环境里，一股脑地投入这第三张专辑的制作与创作工作。没有先前两张专辑United、 Alphabetical的华丽录音设备，4个大男孩依然创作出令人兴奋的作品。
Phoenix乐队是在《Lost in Translation》——《迷失东京的OST》中献声的一支法国synth pop团体，乐队的音乐中大量采用合成器，略带有些复古的曲风。喜欢乐队的主音，年轻人的声音:青春幽默，热情活力，天真浪漫，带有一些稚嫩。聆听Phoenix的音乐就像和一个跟你一样的年轻人分享他的性情和思想！
The French band Phoenix draws elements from an eclectic ’80s upbringing to arrive at their rock-synth sound. Thomas Mars (vocals), Deck d’Arcy (bass), and Christian Mazzalai (guitars) were a garage band based out of Mars’ house in the suburbs of Paris. Mazzalai’s older brother Branco joined the band on guitar when his band Darlin’ disbanded in 1995. The group got their touring start on the French bar circuit doing Hank Williams and Prince covers to drunk audiences. Two years later the band took on the name Phoenix and pressed 500 copies of a single on their own label, Ghettoblaster. The A-side was a punk rock song and the other a chugging Krautrocker, hinting at their eclectic tastes. Shortly after, they were signed to the Paris-based Source Records.

@jakobdorof I'm sure you know this, but the lead singer and Sophia are together. I can't remember if they're married, but they have kids. I was so excited when I made the connection a couple years ago, love both of them! Not sure about the movie though.
