It is possible that they meant Memories of Machines, the odd thing though is that the touring plans are revealed in the plans for the future section. I guess only time will tell.

I don't know actually, there wasn't much information in the magazine either, only a sentence that mentioned that there are plans for touring again later this year.

I seriously doubt it. Tim will probably tour with Memories of machines in august/september (with Colin Edwin and Chris Maitland) and Steve will be busy promoting his second solo.

Steven is releasing a new Blackfield album in March, a solo album in September and then the collab with Mike from Opeth later in the year, so doubt there will be time for No-man as well this year. He is a busy busy man.

Oh that's cool news, thanks MusicFan! But no actual new record probably... Well we can't blame them, with all the other stuff they do, right :) Schoolyard Ghosts is still quite recent. I heard Tim Bowness has a new project too: Memories of Machines (performing live in Zoetermeer - Holland on April 17th).

Hey nicoot! :D Tim and Steven have done some work this year on the track Love You To Bits. In his UXB guise, Pete Morgan (No-Man's live bass player) has contributed to the piece, as has regular collaborator Theo Travis. Originally written in 1994, the song has been added to and altered at various points in the intervening 16 years. Currently, there are plans to further develop the song and release it (in EP or album format) sometime in 2011.

No new no-man stuff for a while I guess. March = Blackfield III, September = second solo album SW, later = collab with Opeth's Akerfeldt... Phil, you could do the same comparing PT's Up The Downstair (electronic), Sky Moves Sideways (psychedelica), Stupid Dream (progrock) and Deadwing & Fear of a Blank Planet (progmetal - although I would definitely not call them 'metal', it's 'more' metal-ish than previous records). But indeed, the fact that there are many opinions about this/these band(s) says a lot about how music is lived and interpretated and what feelings the music bring about.

Good to see so many differing opinions but then again no-man are almost like 3 different bands, an electronic pop band, a hip-hop flavoured sample outfit and the more downbeat, more melancholy version they've been the last 10 years or so. Personally, I put Returning Jesus at the top of the Christmas Tree and Together We're Stranger decidedly at the bottom. Anyone heard signs of a follow up to Schoolyard Ghosts?

nicoot - PT is more varied than no-man? You're having a laugh. Check out the back catalogue.

Oh yes, for sure. The "Thank God for that" wasn't meant as an insult towards no-man or so :-) I'm just happy that SW went on further with PT as his main project, because hm how can I describe this, it's more varieted and will appeal to more people than no-man. But indeed, I love them both for what they are. Schoolyard Ghosts, Returning Jesus, Together We're Stranger,... Great records.

I love Porcupine Tree and No Man both for what they are, actually. Pocrupine Tree was meant to have some drive and energy for live shows, and yes, meant to show some technical skill. No Man focuses specifically on a nostalgic, atmospheric, studio style. Just be glad we have both <3
