Nevermore 是一支美国的前卫金属乐队，1991年组建于西雅图，前身是力量金属乐队 Sanctuary。

　　Nevermore的成功在于他们总是能够把Death Metal的力量和节奏合理运用到自己的音乐中，再加上Warrel Dane独特、多变的嗓音。这一次Jeff Loomis的吉他也更多了一些高速、复杂的Solo。Travis Smith的美术设计也是自成一格，这一切使Nevermore的唱片显得格外与众不同。在网上很多人对这次的制作人Kelly Gray（曾经为Sven Gali、Dokken、Queensryche等乐队录音）表示不满。但也许是因为之前已经看了很多负面的评论，于是很多时候会比较满意他的录制。起码他的录音很清晰到位，可能有人认为他把Nevermore的声音弄得更加温暖，失去了自己的特色。他们的这一次音乐做得非常复杂，层次丰富。整张唱片有快有慢，有很多不可思议的慢曲。完全可以叫做Progressive Power Metal。

　　这支乐队无疑有着其他同类乐队所不具备的特点，他们不仅有华丽的Guitar Line和流畅飘逸的编曲，而且他们玩的够“重”，有很多老式的Death Metal的元素融合在里面。2000年新专辑Dead Heart in a Dead World上市后立即被很多著名乐评人给予95甚至满分。很多人不喜欢Warrel Dane的嗓音，这次他依然没有其他乐队那么悦耳，但是却独具魅力，比起以往专辑他的演唱更加的技术化，很多超慢、黑暗、旋律的精彩演唱段落；Jeff Loomis出道重金属界也有10年的资历了，很多曲目中他演奏的Riffs却惊人的简单，但就是这种简单体现出慑人的魅力，这种架构我想在Power Metal专辑追求复杂化的今天，没有人敢轻易尝试，因为这是“潮流”，NEVERMORE却这样的独树一帜；在专辑的整体印象中，很难想象这是一个一名吉他手并且没有键盘的乐队，因为他们的氛围和层次感和一些芬兰的6人乐队比起来也不差，当然有时他们也用分轨吉他录音，录音师Andy Sneap也功不可没，可这的确是一般乐队无法做到的。

    What I find the most likely options: Nevermore will never bring out a new album > Jeff Loomis will join Nevermore again in a few years > A new guitarist and songwriter joins Nevermore.

    That is al personal, personally I think TGE isn't that great. Even during the live concert those songs did not impress me, but for sure I will give it another change in the coming weeks. I would just not give up on a new guitar player/composer, you never if they might surprise you. I hope they will surprise me.

    But it won't keep coming since Jeff was the main composer, so it probably wouldn't even sound like Nevermore and surely wouldn't be as good. Btw I can't comprehend how any Nevermore fan could be dissapointed by a masterpiece like TGE...

    Chuck originally wanted Warrel to sing for Control Denied, but due to scheduling it didn't happen. Worked out for the best I think. Control Denied is perfect as is, and I think it would have sounded too similar to Nevermore. Also, agree with Godless being their last great album. Prior to that, Politics was. EASILY.

    v U serious? I think they sound very different. Control Denied has another sound, uses other guitar techniques, has far more changes of pace, is more bass-focussed and all. Only the vocal style is somehow similar.
