iheartnikes, last time I checked N*E*R*D is NOT hip-hop. I'm worried about the band reducing themselves to formulaic fodder just to increase airplay. On paper, this is the exact same move Black Eyed Peas made with the incursion of Fergie on Elephunk, which boosted their commercial appeal drastically. Now it seems as if N*E*R*D is looking to duplicate that level of success, and the feeling is unsettling. I just hope they aren't compromising themselves artistically. They need to find a source of inspiration that will allow them to produce an album of the same caliber as In Search Of...and Fly or Die. Seeing Sounds had the refreshing nostalgia of their debut, but for the most part, not the tunes to match.
