i laugh real hard every time i listen to this track, and i'm not quite sure what it is that gets mebut it's every time. i personally don't see the connection to religion in particular, what am i not getting? to me it's just kind of a story about random encounters with disaster and misfortune, and just being like "okay" because that's all you can really do.

Not really random and funny. It seems to have a deeper meaning than just dogs. I read someone's analysis that suggest that the dogs referred to religious nuts, which actually makes a lot of sense and puts a lot of insight into this already amazing song. But, yeah, I love this song.
